[Alice Lake 17]

Sept 14, 2005 - See Narrative Below

"Alice Lake", Oil Painting
18" X 24" Stretched Canvas

If you've been following along reading the narrative you know that Carl's daughter was in labor during the last painting session. Yes, she had her baby - it's a boy! Anthony Avila, 7 lbs. 3 oz., 18 1/2 inches long. Carl couldn't be happier.

Tonight Carl continued painting on the large pine. Carl checked the paint tonight to see how it is drying and he determined that the green paint in the trees on the bottom right is drying very slowly. He said he needs to go ahead and put the other trees on the canvas soon that will use that green color so they can start drying. The large red pine tree colors are drying much faster by comparison. The lake, sky, and distant mountains are almost dry (after a month or so).

An original 18" X 24"  oil painting on stretched canvas using Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils.

This project based on a photograph Carl's brother's brother-in-law Lee Eichelberger took  while backpacking in Idaho.
