Carl had planned to work on adding the final trees, and he will also have to spend time creating the rocks under the big pine tree, but instead he worked again on the big pine tree tonight. Carl said he's still trying to create the detail he's looking for on the big tree.

During a future session Carl said he will make the large pine more narrow by bringing the dark black down the right side of the tree. The final tree will probably have a lot less of the red orange in it too.

An original 18" X 24"  oil painting on stretched canvas using Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils.

This project based on a photograph Carl's brother's brother-in-law Lee Eichelberger took  while backpacking in Idaho.
