[Alice Lake 9]

August 31, 2005 - See Narrative Below

"Alice Lake", Oil Painting
18" X 24" Stretched Canvas

It has been 3 weeks since Carl last worked on this painting. Carl set this project aside when his wife of 35 years became gravely ill and had to go to the hospital. She was there for 19 days. Carl sat by her bedside during the ordeal, and he is very thankful to have her back at home recovering now.

Tonight Carl placed some of the trees along the horizon near the middle. These trees are in the sunlight contrasting with the shadowed trees to the left of the painting. You can also see a few trees detailed in above the horizon on the snowy hills. Carl enjoyed painting again after such a long respite.

An original 18" X 24"  oil painting on stretched canvas using Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils.

This project based on a photograph Carl's brother's brother-in-law Lee Eichelberger took  while backpacking in Idaho.
