"Alice Lake", Oil Painting This is a progression of photographs taken at intervals of about 2 hours as Carl creates a painting of a high elevation Idaho lake. Lee Eichelberger, Carl's brother's brother-in-law, took the reference photo while backpacking in the Idaho wilderness. Carl was drawn to this photograph a couple of years ago but it wasn't until now he made the decision about which media to use for the project. Oil paint translates a detailed image with texture and brush marks. The mountains and foreground weathered tree are great subjects to bring into existence with an oil knife on canvas. Carl looks forward to seeing exactly how this painting will develop. An original 18" X 24" oil painting on stretched canvas using Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils. This project based on a photograph Carl's brother's brother-in-law Lee Eichelberger took while backpacking in Idaho.
