Carl's Summer Vacation 2003 Aspen Resort
in Orr, Minnesota
|
|
Carl traveled to Northern Minnesota for
his annual fishing trip. Each year he returns to the Aspen Resort on Pelican
Lake. Pelican Lake is located 42 miles southeast of International Falls,
MN.
In the next few pages Carl has posted some of his
photographs and has written some notes about this year's adventure. If you want
to take a fun vacation into the North Woods, the Aspen Resort is a great
destination. Their website and information are at http://www.aspenmn.com. This was Carl's 4th year at the resort, and it was his best ever.

The Lodge
This is the lodge and home of the
resort owners, Ray and Venessa Ingebretson.
The weather while I was there this year, between June 20 -
28, 2003, varied from cool and cloudy to warm and sunny; blustery and windy to
quiet and muggy. One thing about the weather in the Northland - if you don't
like it wait 5 minutes, it'll change! |

Coyote Cabin
This is the cabin Carl stayed in this
year. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen area, a front room, and a bathroom. The
front deck looks to the east away from the lake. The front room has windows
looking to the west, out onto the lake (over some woods and another
cabin).
I have stayed in the Timberwolf Cabin, the Osprey Cabin,
and the Coyote Cabin. The Coyote has been my favorite so far. It is off the
beaten path and has its own fire pit and picnic table area. Many of the
creatures photographed on these pages - and several I didn't get photographs of
- appeared out in this front yard just off the deck of the cabin.
